About Silicon Development

A staffing model built from the failures of every other one

Founded in 2018 by an engineering leader who had managed nearshore teams, overseen outsourced projects, and felt the friction firsthand.

The Observation

The industry's model wasn't built for how product teams actually work

01

Resume-and-run staffing

The staffing firms sent resumes that did not match the role. They collected a placement fee and moved on. If the engineer was not the right fit, you started over — and so did they.

02

Offshore coordination tax

The offshore teams created more coordination overhead than output. Ten-to-twelve-hour time zone gaps, misaligned engineering rhythms, and cultural friction turned what should have been added capacity into a management burden.

03

Dev shops that take over

The dev shops wanted to own the project — their architecture, their standards, their timeline. And the talent marketplaces left the hardest part entirely to the buyer: vetting, matching, and managing the ongoing relationship.

04

Unverifiable "top 1%" claims

Meanwhile, everyone in the space claimed "top 1% talent" with no verifiable process behind the number. The pattern was clear: the industry had optimized for volume and speed, not for whether an engineer would actually work inside your team.

The Response

Silicon Development was built to work differently

The model is straightforward: source engineers from Latin America, vet them deeply for the specific role, embed them directly into the client's product team, and stay involved for the life of the engagement.

No separate delivery units. No management layers. No translation layers. Just vetted engineers who work inside your team, in your time zone, on your priorities.

How We Operate

Non-negotiables

01

Embedded, not outsourced

Engineers work inside your team — your tools, your standups, your release process. No separate delivery unit, no project manager in between, no translation layer.

02

Vetting is the product

Technical depth, communication quality, problem-solving approach, and environment fit are all evaluated before an introduction is made.

03

You keep control

Your roadmap, your architecture, your engineering standards. Silicon Development adds capacity without adding management overhead.

04

Continuous, not transactional

If the fit needs adjustment, if the role evolves, or if you need to scale — the support is continuous for the life of the engagement.
